Description Commission. For those who follow TWTYH twitter role play, there was a discussion about Sayaka and Kazuki together dressed in Elegant Gothic Lolita/Aristocrat style. Then I was commissioned to draw it. So here it is!

Man, I love this pairing.... sooooo very much. <3 I love how they're matching. I purposely wanted to make them match like this! So cute! Kazuki is like, "Yeah, I make lace look sexy." Oh, you do, Kazuki. You do...

Sayaka and Kazuki are from my comic, The Way to Your Heart [link]

Yaay, EGA Sayaka and Kazuki! ^.^ Love it!

One bit of constructive criticism - the pattern is a bit overwhelming with how prominent and apparent it is. Might need the opacity lowered to make it more of a subtle effect? Maybe? I dunno. @.@

Yeah, I tried playing around with the opacity because at first I thought it was too overwhelming as well. But I didn't quite like it... so I just stuck with it like this. *shrugs*

Glad you like it, thanks for the comment!!

Hmm...maybe setting the layer to Overlay with a lowered opacity? Oh, fickle Photoshop. >(

Why is it Americans can't pull off stuff like this, eh? XD I looove all the lace, and Kazuki's smokey eyes came out fabulous. Her gloves are looove..

How did you come to find your own style for noses, if I may ask? That and your jawlines for characters really help give personality (and gender....hahaha..) to each individual face.

Thanks! There's something about men in lace... er, there's something about Kazuki in lace. ^_^;

Noses were always tricky for me. I used to do the Sailor Moon type of noses back when I was like 10 and first getting into drawing comic-type characters. But the nose is a beautiful thing... I think a lot of anime and manga really just gloss over it, which is too bad. I always appreciated the artists who would put a little more detail toward noses, and not just draw a simple line or dot to represent it, so I wanted to be like that too.

Thanks! I've become a big fan of jawlines (that sounds kind of weird... but for us anatomy geeks it makes perfect sense!). It's fun to find ways to differentiate between male and female, aside from the obvious. I think jawlines, and general facial bone structure are a good way to do that. It's fun to play around with and experiment with. It's also fun to make some male characters with slightly softer and more feminine features (like my Akito... much softer facial features than Toshio, for example), and same for female characters. I think it's fun, anyway. I'm a huge fan of this kind of stuff!

Lace is generally made of awesome. Put it on the right person and it can blow socks off. XD

I've tried SO many nose-styles so far, you have no idea. LOL But I do like the simpler is better, because it isn't usually something attention is drawn to unless there are significant features (e.g. a big nose, a hooked nose, an upturned nose) and typically in realism it isn't even given that many features, from what I've attempted.. But I do think it deserves more than a boring little dot. XD Faces have curves and lines of various lengths that suggest so much for personality's, and I like how you're able to pull off the straighter lines better than I was ever able to. Haha..

I'm a big fan of collar bones. I dunno. I just dunno. X3 And yeah, usually when people see drawings I'm looking at over my shoulder, particularly in anime/manga style, they go, "Is that a dude or a chick?" I haven't heard that on yours, so...that's a spendiferous job! LOL Akito should have softer features. Man, I've heard so many of my friends say Akito is their favorite character! XD Toshio seems actually like your most masculine character, so it fits in my head for him to have a stronger jaw.

But of course, a lot of those fun details you add for most frames go out the window when you draw your characters as super-cute chibis! XD I think yours are actually my favorite kind of chibi-style. There's one that is probably your runner-up, but..serioussslyyy! <33

Awww thank you, you're so sweet! I do have fun drawing chibis, especially my boys as chibis. Just way too fun!

Yeah, I'm grateful that I've gotten decent at distinguishing my male characters from my female. Took some practice to get to that point. I agree, Toshio does seem like my most masculine character. That is pretty awesome considering his long flowing locks... Love that, man. XD

I also have a thing for collar bones. Just bones in general. So fun to draw... covered by skin, of course. ^_~

Whenever you leave me comments, it always inspires me to do some figure drawing!!!! I should... I need more practice.

I really think Toshio is your most masculine character of all, even though Miyabi tends to be more physical... it's more from a cry for help than any form of what I consider 'true masculinity'. Toshio is super-sweet, but very human, and his flaws are slowly developing as you go, and I like seeing it gradually and believably. (Man, I could go on for days analyzing your characters to hilarious levels..it's a habit of mine. X3)

Yesss....gotta love those long flowing locks! XD I am so sad to see bald guys. I'm addicted to hair - it's my favorite feature on a guy. Most girls say, 'the eyes' or 'the smile'. I always go, 'it's the hair. Definitely the hair'.

Aww...you're welcome, if I inspire you! <33 Our commentage actually had me trying to draw some new things I haven't done before the other night, I was so excited! I'm starting to collect reference pictures like some people collect baseball cards or stamps... I'm seriously starting to envy your 'captive model' now. LOL

That would be great, I always love when my characters are analyzed. Hair is a great feature for a man, I agree with you on that. Hehehe, and I'm sure you'll get your own captive model some day! ^_~

LOL....okay, then, you asked for it.

Yumi is still pretty close to the girl we were introduced to - not very confident or outspoken, has a good mind but lacks strength in most social situations. It takes quite a bit of irritating for her to speak up for herself, so she tries to make the best of it when it happens. I also think her best friends are a big help in this. X3 A lot of people say, "Well, her friends are very important to her," but with Yumi, this is absolutely true. Her relationships, once established, become her whole world, and I believe this is in part due to the fact that she used to be the 'nothing special, nerdy' one before, who had little interactions. Yumi was meant to have close friendships, and I hope to see this loyalty put to the test in the future to show just how deep this feeling runs. =3 The biggest change in her character has been a growing strength, when it comes to the people she loves and herself.

Toshio is, as I mentioned, your most masculine character to step forward into the spotlight. Mostly because of the way he treats Yumi. Before, we had little indication of his personality because he was the quiet member or Orochi, but when he took the first steps to made amends with her, it made a very positive impression. Then later, when he tests his bound (as guys are wont to do) he finds out where Yumi stands and decides to respect that, which is a HUGE freaking bonus point in my book. And, as we hear directly from Yumi, that's a big deal for her, too. But, being as socially underdeveloped and automatically timid as she is, she suspects he can't hold back much longer. Maybe for a good reason, maybe not, Yumi had trouble believing someone could be that 'gentlemanly' and respect that indefinitely, so her mind jumped to conclusions.

Miyabi is my favorite character because he's a whole different can of worms. The more messed up a character seems, the more I adore them. I dunno why. I just do. Plus, I love his character design, and his sense of style. (Especially those cool sunglasses, man..) Miyabi's problems seem centered around his mother, who was undoubtedly a HUGE part of his life, as well as a teacher in how he treated other people (esp. women) but once she was gone, he probably went through serious stages of abandonment, which, to most momma's boys, is a big deal. I have characters like that. Once you take away their most stable person, they feel like their whole world has crumbled, and he feels like that. If she ever promised to be there on his first signed concert, that feels like a lie to him. If she ever spoke about how he would have to take care of her when she got old, that feels like a fault of his. The guilt and the remorse and the anger builds up, and in a sense, he's taking a lot of his anger towards his MOTHER out on Yumi, since they resemble each other. It is common for people still mourning to create an image of their deceased loved one that is more 'ideal' and not flawed. He has probably forgotten the times he got reprimanded or felt she was unjust, in favor of the beautiful person he saw her as, looking back. All that negative energy, though, has been transferred to himself (hence the cutting) and now to Yumi. I also think there was some serious psychological issues about their previous drummer (whose name escapes me right now, I apologize. Names murder me.) and his past, but I haven't figured those out yet. His attraction to Little Mouse I (referred to now as LMI, lol..because roman numerals rock) is more complicated, and I can't decide if she looks MORE like his mother, and hence goes to the old rumor that guys look for their mothers in their ideal girl, or if her disguised looked LESS like Yumi as well as his mother, and hence attracted him with a darker quality that he sees in himself. He obviously thinks he likes the shy, timid type, because we've seen that in LMII (who has a whole barrel of issues herself. Lol). I think the shyness is more like his mother, though, in attitude. And it's also a side of Yumi that Miyabi doesn't see that much, since he's always provoking her. Secretly, though, I think he's better suited to someone with TONS of patience and a sharp tongue. And maybe, just maybe, a good slapping hand. Because the boy needs to grow up and learn that the womenfolk are not always going to come baby him for the attention he seeks. He is TOTALLY looking for a female approval in the things he does, and he sort of hides behind his sister in that, I think. Now, with Yayoi, we see him truly opening up, but only to females. He made himself vulnerable (and kind of adorkable) in front of LMI, taking a chance on a relationship and being super-embarrassed afterwards because he was turned down. He's seeking the feminine attention, but he's being kind of sideways about it, and he needs to learn to man up a little in that respect. Taking it out on people physically or verbally won't win him points, though the aggression is directly related to his own personal feelings of guilt and anger toward his mother for 'leaving' him. Right now, he's feeling more of the guilt, hence his conversation with Yayoi. A lot depends on her reaction to his little confession, and I think it was actually a good thing for him to talk to her. Though I don't know what he'll do if she freaked on him. Knowing Yayoi, I'm betting that she took it alright, but I'm not sure she has the weaponry to help him through it. :/ I just don't know..she's a rather new character.. I kind of don't like her character, since she was so quick to mold to Miyabi's desires and wants in a girl, changing who she really was for his fancy. I think he could learn a lot if a female just outright told him 'No, screw you. I'm doing what *I* want.” more often. XD He'd lose some of that spoiled idealism and hopefully get over his remorse. I also think that, a very important scene will be the one he tells Yumi to her face just what it is that he didn't like about her from the start. Whatever she hears from other characters, whatever she finds out on her own, isn't as important as the day HE tells HER. For some reason, I imagine the scene at his mother's grave, but that's my own mind. ^-^

I could go on about Shuya, Musashi and Akito, as well as the tons of other fun side charries you have, but this comment is already super-long. Zomigosh. And I swore I wouldn't go this long on dA. XD

No problem! *dancity dance* It's fun for me to read your stuff when I have something to chew on! (LOL...That phrase always amused me..I picture myself nomming banana bread now..)

Yes, there's something about banana bread these days... I've been craving it myself a lately a lot more than usual. Actually baked a loaf the other day!

Okay, sounds great! That means I'll have to make some drawings of the other characters and post them. ^_^ I'm really excited to read more analyzing. <3
