Oh, Seven, Try to be Free...

Once again, I am a bit late with this, but Singer/Songwriter Koji Wada passed away on April 3rd. For those who don't know who, he had been with the Digimon franchise since Adventure with the opening "Butterfly" and the evolution song, "Brave Heart". Since then he sang virtually all of the openings for the other generations (with the exception of Xros Wars and... I'm not sure about Savers) and all of the evolution songs (INCLUDING Savers and Xros Wars). His most recent work for Digimon was the new versions of "Butterfly" and "Brave Heart" for Tri and, sadly, the new version of an insert song used in the first season and now an end theme for Tri, "Seven" was apparently the last song he did before he died.

I recently purchased the single for the Tri version of "Seven" and listening to it next to the original you can hear a difference in his voice. Not that he was no longer a good singer, but his voice is a little higher and maybe not as strong; it's very sad when you think about when the song must have been recorded in relation to him dying. The CD also had a sticker on it that I think was in memory of him (can't be sure because the message was in Kanji, but it had a butterfly on it)

Onto the drawing itself, I put a LOT into this. With eight characters, there was no way I could fit them all in one page, so they were drawn in pairs across four pages, I just put them all together digitally to save time and give a better idea for what the final will look like, though I may still move a few things around. (meaning that while it may LOOK like i had only two art pieces this week I actually had five)
Other than that, I'm actually quite proud of the resuts. This is one of the few times where I've had an idea for an original drawing in my mind and I've actually been able to get it onto the page (or... PAGES) looking, more or less, like how I imaged.

Digimon Adventureand all of its characters, including Taichi/"Tai", Yamatto/"Matt", Hikari/"Kari", Takeru/"TK", Sora, Mimi, Koushiro/"Izzy" and Joe are (c) Naoyuki Itou, Toei Animation, and any other respective owners I may not know/have listed or be aware of. I do not own the character in any way, shape or form, I am just a fan!
