Description

It’s a normal day in the office. “Ah, this is a bit boring.”

“Nara, don’t be so gloomy,” said Malee, “It’s so peaceful outside. That’s a good sign.”

“I agree,” said Ruby, “Let’s go out and have some fun during lunch.” Then the phone ranged.

“Oh! I got it!” said Polly. She answered the phone and she gave a surprised look on her face. “Oh my, that’s terrible! Don’t worry, we’ll be there.” She hung up the phone with a smile on her face. “Get ready girls, we got a mystery.”

“About time! Let’s move out ladies!” said Nara, full of excitement.

The group got ready and went out of the city to a smaller town just forty-five minutes away. Soon, they head to a small house in a calm neighborhood. Near the doorstep, a family full of sadness. “Hello, I’m Nara, head detective of ‘The Mystery P.I.s Inc.’ How can we help you?”

The elder woman walks up to the group. “Thank you so much for coming out here. You see, I won a lottery ticket and now someone stolen it. The ticket is worth $450 million dollars.”

This shocked the entire group. Over four hundred million dollar lottery ticket stolen?! That’s a serious crime the detectives need to find. “Someone stole it, huh?” said Nara, with a sterner look. “Do you have any clue miss…”

    “Call me Grandma Ruzett.”

“Yes, any clues at all, Miss Ruzett?”

“No, I don’t know who did this and why. Everyone here is so nice, I don’t know anything at all.”

“Alrightly Miss Ruzett, we’re gonna search every inch of this town before the deadline. Let’s go girls, we’re only got about twelve hours.”

    “Right!!”

“Ok, the first thing we gotta do is go over Miss Ruzett’s footsteps. Ruby, what do you got?”

    “Still going over it.”

“Grandma Ruzett mentioned a reward, right Nara?” Malee was very eager to hear any reward.

“Yes, she said she’ll pay us $10 million if we find the ticket before the deadline.”

“Oh my, that’s enough to cover our rent for a long while.” said Polly.

“Ok, I got it, Nara.” said Ruby.

    “Alright, what do you have?”

“Let’s start off with two places: the library and firehall.”

“Ok, let’s split up from here. Polly and Ruby, you go search the library, while Malee and I go to the firehall. Ready? Let’s go!”

    “Right.”

Nara and Malee reached the firehall. “Malee, searched this place from top to bottom.”

    “Rightly-oh chief.”

They search with all they can do. “Man chief, and here I thought this place could be messy, but they know how to keep it organize don’t they?”

“Malee, stop that and keep looking.”

After the search, they found nothing. “I hope Ruby and Polly have better luck than we’re having.”

“Ok Polly keep looking, there has to be something we overlooked.”

“We search everywhere, what else did we missed?”

Ruby and Polly searched nearly everywhere in the library, but no progress. “Wait. We didn’t check the books. IN them to be exact.”

“Polly, you’re right. Let’s check all the recent books that’s been checked in.”

Polly checks the latest book, flips a few pages. “Oh my lord, look what I found.”

“What is it? A piece from a puzzle? That looks like a blue crayon.”

“We need to regroup with the Nara and Malee and tell them what we found.”

After regrouping and report, Polly and Ruby told them the mysterious piece they founded in a book, one that was the latest checked in. “Alright, let’s hop to it. We only got 11 hours and 56 minutes left until the deadline.”
