Another comedic actor's birthday today! It's Cheech Marin, who's known for his roles as Tito from Oliver & Company, Banzai from The Lion King, and Ramone from the Cars franchise. Marin is also famous for being one half of the comedy duo Cheech & Chong; he and Tommy Chong did guest star in several shows, including the South Park episode "Cherokee Hair Tampons," though they didn't record together when they were on separate terms. The two did get back together in 2008, though.

During recording for The Lion King, Marin wanted to get Chong to voice Shenzi when the character was still written as male. However, the two were split at the time, so Shenzi was rewritten as female (because hyenas are matriarchal) and Whoopi Goldberg was hired for the role. Fast-forward to 2016, Chong played Yax the "naturalist" Yak in Zootopia. I think that hyena and yak would make an interesting duo in allusion to their actors and the predator-and-prey relationship of Disney's greatest films about animals.

For other roles, Marin was Hurley's dad in Lost and Mad Hog in Hoodwinked Too! Hood Versus Evil alongside Chong as Stone. Marin also competed in Celebrity Jeopardy, winning the first one in 1992. He also won over Anderson Cooper and Aisha Tyler in 2008 Invitationals for the same show but later lost to Michael McKean in the finals. Besides acting, Marin sings and even wrote a picture book called Cheech the School Bus Driver.
