Kyle's mom Sheila has the reputation of being the "Karen" in early South Park and the movie. Since then, she has become more open-minded and less obnoxious, as seen in "Mr. Garrison's Fancy New Vagina" and "The List". She did have good intentions even when she overstepped her boundaries in protecting her family, and as of Season 20 her husband Gerald proved to be even worse as a sociopathic Internet troll. Some fans still don't live down her early characterization, and even the people behind the show know it; Sheila is a boss fight in Fractured but Whole, and in Season 23 at least three bad things happened to her (getting apprehended by ICE, getting kicked by Liane, getting C. diff).
