I love this guy.Started it at the end of January. Then I lost me sketch-book and couldn't draw. There was a lot of drama, because I thought I had lost it at school or that it was stolen. Luckily I found it again, behind the sofa in the living room. *sigh*
Then I didn't feel like drawing for a couple of months, and I didn't want to force myself.
Then a week ago I started with my drawing of Zack, but yesterday I decided to finish this one first.
I am glad I did, because it turned out better than I had hoped it would be.
Took me around 12 hours.

I used a 0.5 B pen-pencil-thing.
5B to make the black blacker.
Paper: 210 x 297mm, 180grams.
The scanning was hard, because the lighting erased some of the finer points. Had to edit the scanning-stuff before actually scanning. Then I made the black blacker with Dodge Tool. Rest is unchanged.

I cried so hard when I thought I lost it, and my classmate, as kind and sweet as she is said "But, it's just a drawing... it's something you can make again..."
Yeah, but not like this. Never like this. Every drawing is unique, and re-doing just because I lost it will never make me love it as much as the first one.
But only people who make art themselves truly understand that.

Ik wil uiteindelijk docent worden in Grafisch Vormgeven/Tekenen. Of iets in die richting, lol. Gaat alleen wel nog ff duren. Wil na Niveau 2 overstap maken naar Niveau 4. Dan voor een jaar ofzo naar Italie gaan, docentenopleiding doen als k weer in NL ben en dan docent worden. In whichever country. xD

Hahahaha, da's inderdaad een optie ja. Ik wil docent worden zodat ik voor iemand iets kan betekenen. Ik wil een docent zijn die ikzelf nooit heb gehad voor ik naar het GLU ging.
Ik ben half Italiaans, en Italie heeft echt mn hart te pakken. Weet niet zeker waar in Italie, denk het liefste in het zuiden(Lecce), want daar woont mijn familie.

Lately I've been putting more time in a drawing, hence the drawings getting better.
Before I always just kinda rushed and left it unfinished because I got bored quickly.
My fave part in making a drawing is doing the outlining, which made me not finish my work. Now I put my time in it and voila, they're better.
Still need to work a little on it, though. Sometimes I make it too rough and it doesn't fit the picture or mood of the person in it.
Luckily it did with this one.

I use to be like that as well, I hated shading, I hated drawing the hair, and now even though I still hate it, I see it as worth while

But you have to do it to complete a drawing, yeah?
Looking at my old drawings I now see that they're incomplete, that's why I never really cared for them. Now, because I don't mind spending 8+ hours at least in making a drawing, and even doing the less fun parts, makes it actually more fun to do. Because what you get back is a drawing with more personality and one that is actually finished.
