Here's another in-class painting that I did for my students at RMCAD to watch for Computer Illustration II.
Their current project is a fantasy painting so I decided it would be good to do a study of one of the dwarfs from The Hobbit. I wasn't going for an exact likeness with this one as I didn't much the time. My main goal was to play with some texture brushes and see if I could give it a more painterly feel, so I'm pretty happy with the loosness and results for such a short time painting.
1 hour and 10 minutes total. Enjoy!

Very nice and you definetily nailed the painterly feeling. Dare I ask which brushes you used (assuming it's done in PS)?

Thank you! It is PS. If you go into my gallery I offer all of my brushes. I have quite a lot so it's a big file but if you get in there and play around, maybe in the first 50 or so there are some brushes that have this canvas texture to them. I was experimenting with those. Sorry I know it doesn't help a lot but if you play with them you'll see and get the idea
