POWER RANGERS REDESIGNS!!!
Hey everyone! I've been a fan of the Mighty Morphin Power Rangers ever since I was a kid. It came around at a difficult time in my life when my parents were getting divorced. Knowing that Power Rangers was on six days a week gave me the stability I needed to get through that hard time. I could always go home and watch a world where geeks, jocks, cheerleaders, cool kids, and not so cool kids could get together and be friends. On top of that I got to watch fun martial arts fights. It created an atmosphere of hope and kickstarted my lifelong interest in the martial arts. Without Power Rangers I'm not exactly sure what would have happened in my life.

This series was my chance to showcase my love for the original series while putting my own stamp on it (and maybe even get some work out of it if I'm lucky). I wanted to create something that could be viewed as a movie quality or AAA quality design. I also wanted to update the suits while still retaining those core elements that were key to the original designs that we all love so much. While I know not everyone will love my rendition, hopefully you will appreciate them!
On a side note for those who are interested, each character was digitally sculpted in Zbrush. I then rendered out a still image with lighting information from KeyShot. Finally I took that image into Photoshop where I worked on overpainting it in order to give it a "beauty pass". In future posts I'll showcase process shots and WIPS to give you an idea just how I created them. For now I hope you enjoy and share these pics with fellow Ranger fans.
