How did I come up with her: Skin and colour from ideas from an animations video. When I made gear combinations, her and Mika were too similar, so I split them across groups. Istala then forged the story while I was cold, so then that became her difference.

Her story: She'd been skeptical of the propaganda for some time, but after being invited, she knew she had to get out.

When she did escape though, while other Octolings were quite vocal and/or had found many other friends it took quite a few weeks for her to find anyone. She was out walking one night, wondering if it was a good idea. She liked Turf Wars, but she wasn't finding anyone interesting. It was shortly after this cold night she discovered Tanishe and Maggie, who were both hanging out.

The two let her in and started discussing stuff, and this happened for multiple nights, and Istala grew closer and closer. She soon became close friends with them and their friends, Swunsie and Pausila.

She soon began hanging out with them often.
