I love that idea of a trail being left behind where sticks have been! I used that in a painting of drums I have in my gallery. I dunno how you made this effect here (sparklers maybe?) but however you did it, it looks great!

Wow, THIS is a great idea. I've never seen a photo quite like this so far and I like what I see. It is an interesting idea to visualise the action of a drum and I love it.
Besides commenting on your well done photo I have another request though. The boyfriend of my mother gets a self made calendar every year for his birthday and since he is a drummer, he requested a calendar about drums this time. I was wondering if it would be okay to use your photo for that calendar. It would only be used for one single calendar, nothing comercial or anything else. I would be very grateful about a quick and positive reply since my mother's boyfriend's birthday is soon.

Honestly, I think this has tons of potential, but that arbitrarily thrown in picture frame is a bit of a downer. Some level work in photoshop and color management could make the yellow indoor lighting seem a little more professional, too.
