We each bought a copy of the original pattern and then picked out colors we preferred.

My goal, of course, was to turn Bellatrix into my character Aerie.

She looked great in pinks but I thought... it's really missing a strong Aerie feature: wings. So I went hunting for wings! I found the perfect angle and similar enough design for Aerie's butterfly wings in Lavender and Lace's Fairy Grandmother: www.123stitch.com/item/Lavende…

Aerie doesn't have a cat, but she does have a big ol' winter wolf. So originally I had just changed the original black cat to a white cat. You can see the leftover in Nancy's version. But Aerie DOES have a little tiny purple dragon!

So I went hunting again, this time for a little tiny dragon pattern. Now... I have no idea who did the original pattern for this, but I did find a pattern that's based on the art of Nene Thomas and I found the original artwork. www.azutura.com/little-dragon-… I changed up the tail and flipped it around to replace the cat.

I'm really looking forward to stitching this for 2022. I don't know how much we'll succeed but I think it's a great project!
