DukeWaxeye 's spirit animal. The Rosy Maple Moth (dryocampa rubicunda) is very similar to the maple samara (winged fruit).

Had the opportunity to stitch it without having to do too much work on my own! So I did! This is my first time doing this "velvet stitch". For this stitch a stick (like a skewer) gets place between the fabric and your thread so each time you come up you wrap your needle around it, making the stitches really long. The last step is to cut all the loops and make it extra fuzzy but I wasn't brave enough.
