Description
Lately I got bored from drawing simple backgrounds, so doing something more detailed this time. Legit excuseThe concept is inspired by the weird transitions in my dreams. For example, last time I had a 'dream' about being stuck in a building at floor 79.
There was a bomb that would be exploding soon, everyone panicked. I used the stairs to get out and... went happily to shopping after. Happy ending! \(￣u￣)/
This character is my OC Yokishi. I designed this outfit last year and almost forgotten it lol. When I looked back I thought, hey it doesn't look that bad.

IT DOESN'T HAVE A CAT IN IT, 0/10 DO IT AGAIN, HORRIBLE.
Just kidding, obviously. Your sense of lighting is lovely, the tone of the picture makes sense, your perspective is on point, and the character has great gesture. My only legitimate complaint is that I feel her left eye is too high up on her face, due to the juxtaposition against the jaw. Other than that, I love your work here - 9.9/10.

Where do I have to put a cat though
I had some trouble drawing the face/jawline and right now it still looks weird to me.

I really like the elegant feel you were going for in this picture. I like the design for the room(even though it's falling part XD) And Yokishi's outfit and expression. Also, the flying letters and the petals contribute to the motion you are trying to convey in the artwork. A true "transition."

In terms of her expression, it looks likes she detecting something ominous. Like she's stressed or saddened by something that might of happened or is happening, but is trying to hide it or hope it's not so. I kinda got that from how instead of looking at the crumbling wall in front of her, she's looking upwards, like trying to see something else rather than face reality. Otherwise her expression is very enigmatic, but her eyes give her away. Perhaps I'm just looking too deep into it though.

It's like I'm developing 2 styles: cute or elegant. I like both so won't stop drawing the other xD
I don't know why I never used her old outfit. Sometimes, when you dig up some old stuff,
you might find something interesting to re-use.
When working on this drawing, I thought the thumbnail looks different than the bigger size.
For this one I used nothing else than gradients for the bg. No hard edges or strong lighting,
just for change. The petals are supposed to transform into letters like the transition in the middle
but it was hard to draw that. Not that this detail matters a lot
Your description sounds so funny "so soft yet hard" LOL. Despite using soft shade, the character
looks quite sharp. Probably because of the contrast and color difference compared to the background.

Ahahaha, dreams are weird. I should know, I remember 90% of the dreams I have.
Once, I had a dream about space, chocolate milk, and government budget cuts on important matters. Yeah... Turned it into a story about an average girl, who accidentally is chosen by a sentient spaceship. By being chosen by this spaceship she must go and train into space and train with a few other chosen children to fight in a galactic war. Alll the children despise her. The only one that likes her is the spaceship. Eventually all the children refuse to go to war, and leave Kellie Bell to pilot the huge sentient spaceship (supposed to be piloted by thirteen people) by herself. Also leaving her to represent all of humanity in the Earth's first galactic war.
The chocolate milk is mixed with a special ingredient, so that when drunk it can allow telepathy, even between humans and aliens. The mind's language is the same. Being around the tongue's language confuses the mind or tricks the body into beleiving that the mind's language is different.

It's an odd combination, but not the weirdest I've had. Gotta love dreams.
If chocolate milk can grant telepathy, it would have it's downsides. Imagine the fights caused due to people's inner thoughts. XD
