It's been ages I finished a drawing. Did I lose sense of colors? Late birthday gift for !I planned to post this on your birthday but deadlines got in the way. Sorry for always being a turtle orz
Last time I drew our OTP was like 2014? Sorry for neglecting these two ahhhh. I miss drawing OC art. They aren't married, but I thought this scene is fun.
I had this concept in mind for a while and it was supposed to look darker. I wanted to draw something with a reflection. While Taina does and Kaichi doesn't.

My art journey made a different turn. I was looking for a style that was simple, yet good enough for my taste.
I still continue the style for Dark Nights, but it also changed a bit. In it's very noticeable between sprite and some CG art.
I didn't want to stick with cellshade and developed this paintery style. As someone who can't choose, I keep both styles.

Ah, I getcha on the art style part. Still, I love that the game is like a record of your journey! Some illustrations looked like they were from the times the struggle for dynamic drawings was real (and it worked!). And some had this beautiful half-painterly half-sketch feel that you now have in your current works. I wonder how the art would progress as we play the game? I know you redrew a lot of things over time but it's something I very much look forward to!
No matter cellshade or painterly, I'm very sure you've gained something valuable all these years that make your drawings magical, regardless of style!

on a more lets try to english note- I just honestly really really love this-?? like Taina has a reflection and it is somewhat eerie like its a white form with a hand stretching out - or reaching out into the fast sky and city and that kinda makes me bit sad and it is bit eerie but also like so nice??like no words-- the background is just stunning as usuall and honestly reallly love your style choice fo rthis <3 its so smooth and flowly and just- right out of the painting type of thing- but on another note- i m kinda laughing at the background like the city lights in the building and then it is like snow-?? what is floating there- its like yo u went lets put these random lines here here and here- and i just find that so adorable and hilarious a nd i m tired and i m just- sdlfh i have no words or too much that dont flow or make sense- woops-

Mousey keeps surprising me too. I don't remember Kaichi proposing or Taina saying 'yes' //rubs chin// You know how much I like to play with feels. Illustrating interesting interactions and passion flying off is my thing!
Originally I had a darker concept in mind. Instead of a city, the background is all black with demons reflecting in the mirror. When I made the characters colorful, I scrapped the idea because these 2 look too cute in such a setting lol.
The advantage of abstract backgrounds is that it can reflect many possibilities. To me it is a city with lights, though the 'lights' can be interpreted as snow, dusts or flower petals. The lines are not random LOL. They are sort of edges/bars of
a window. They are in a high building, thus you can view the city from a high perspective. Sorry that they turned so messy. I still don't have much control over painting details orz
Kaichi's suit was originally white, but I picked too saturated colors for the shading and now it looks like green-blue? The same goes for the roses. Geez, so many accidents. Your dork is pretty okii. I should have detailed her more, but again

To be honest, I didn't think too deeply on this concept lmao. If I should answer your question, let me make up a part as I write. Kaichi doesn't view much of himself and the focus is shifted to Taina, who does have a reflection. He doesn't care about
beauty or it is a curse to him. He rather not see himself. Another reason is that he is a demon. Taina's back is towards the window and doesn't see that he has no reflection, in other words, not knowing what she is getting into. However, Kaichi's smile
is genuine. He trusts Taina.
