Description Is this the first one? Cause this movie was made in 2002, based on Ape Escape 2. This movie opened in Japan on August 2002. If someone has the movie, they should upload it on Youtube. This is Jimmy in the first Ape Escape movie. I found an interesting fact as well! It said that the entire series sold 2.45 million copies in it's lifetime, even it's not as much as great, well-known franchises. The Ape Escape Manga should be coming! I will scan it once I got it on my doorstep.

劇場版サルゲッチュ 黄金のピポヘル・ウッキーバトル is it's japanese name. Badly translated, that's "Ape Escape [Ukkibatoru Pipoheru Golden Movie] ". Slightly less badly translated, that part in the golden brackets is something about a monkey fight with a golden peak point helmet.

Weird thing is, most things talking about it only have an article from 2002, 15th of May, and no more information after that. It was, however, only 20 minutes long, and had some sort of simultaneous release with the Beyblade movie. Hence all the beyblade pics coming up when googled. [link]

Here's some things.

I think it's fairly obscure in Japan as well. It's google image search for the japanese name didn't turn up a whole lot.

I found episodes 1 through 20 of the anime with English subs on YouTube. I really wish they'd sub the rest of the series...
Oh and a new Ape Escape cartoon will be appearing on NickToons some time this summer

I saw them on Youtube before, except Nicktoon found out, and removed them. I only managed to get two of the shorts posted from Youtube, before they were removed. I posted the two of them on Veoh, if you're interested.

I also happen to have the Saru Get Chu ~ON Air~ anime episodes. They are exclusive ONLY in Japan, the series is finished with 2 seasons. It now re-runs on Japanese TV. You can watch it if u're interested (Note: there are no subs in it).

Yes. This movie is based on Ape Escape 2. Ape Escape 2 was extremely popular in Japan, that a movie based on the game is made. This movie was released on the big screen in Japan on 2002. The movie is now on DVD, and it's really rare to find it nowadays.

I found a Japanese Ape Escape fanart in Yahoo Japan (uploaded). They aren't mine, but I know what is their rightful Japanese owners. I found some Japanese Ape Escape clubs such as Piposaru Station, Haruka Union and dang, there's more clubs in Japan more than in the world.

They really need to bring Ape Escape anime and movies here. It's not like there aren't any fans, besides they would get more fans, who could resist one of those cute monkeys faces? *hugs monkey *
