My audition for 's Original Character Tournament that she's holding. :>

I've said countless times before that I do not like drawing comics, and I still stand by that fact with a passion. xDDD HOWEVER, since I am interested with children's illustration I combined the two notions to make something effective and overall fun to put together and that wouldn't become too monotonous to work on. Most I ever plan to do is 9-10 panels, I really can't stand doing anymore than that. I really just prefer to work on singular pieces and move onto something new each time rather than making constant parts all of one series.

We'll see what happens I'm really happy with how this came out. I pulled out an old crayon-like brush I used in the past only now I think I used it a bit more effectively.
The contest itself doesn't have many entries as of yet, but hopefully there'll still be a good bit of competition. If not then this'll likely be another of my unfinished stories/comics/reasons why I don't want to make more comics for them to end up unfinished. xD;;;;

I meant to comment before, ok a long way before, but I just have to say I'm such a sucker for really cute stuff with rhyming and great art direction wow! ESPECIALLY RHYMING!!
also i have a question, kinda frivolous concerning my OCT round but are just out of curiosity. What instrument is Jackie specifically... I don't remember reading it explicitly anywhere hmm m I mean he's a color wheel right? so that means he's a multiple instruments or something? How does that even work if you got that planned out... or it's just... the sounds just come out JUST LIKE THAT?? and what is his genre range? sorry if i'm not being articulate enough aaa

xDDDDDDD I'm really glad that you like it.~ Rhyming always seems super easy to me to do and just fun to write so likely all my entries into this thing will be written this way.

Also, Jackie's basically a swiss army knife of instruments, he can play most anything that his buds can't, though the majority is either wind & keyboard based instruments. The only things he can't do (to a degree) are String & Bass, as well as certain Percussion types. He can also make various sound effects like techno bleeps and bloops. The sounds themselves come out naturally but to create them he just has to tap any one of the colors on his head with his fist to make it light up and emit whatever sound he wants at that moment. :> And I don't think that anyone in his little "world" has a genre limit, it just depends on what all type of stuff that a particular "band" wants to play.

You're welcome :^) Lucky! Anything with writing ever never comes as easily to me!!

Hmmm I see! Very interesting. Well, is there a genre that Jackie or his band personally prefers?

No genre in particular for them, most any music that I tend to listen to I can picture them rockin' out and playing- which can range all the way between stuff like classical to techno and all sorts of other things. They're a very versatile little bunch.

This is so many forms of adorable I don't even know where to begin. ;______;
But I LOOOOVE the children's book concept, and I love how the edges of each panel are... how they are. xDDD I LOVE IT. Also that crayon brush looks REEEALLY GOOD how you used it here! ;o; You are improving so much and all your drawings just look amazing. <3

I'm actually kinda floored at just how many people have ended up liking this since uploading it. :,D I wasn't sure how this sort of storybook style would turn out but I'm really happy that you and everyone else all seem to like it a lot.~ <,D To get the edges how they were I actually just took the crayon box and drew a box with it- then duplicated that box all the way down so I could just draw inside of it with that cool little border cropping everything.~ eue

Thanks so much girl ;v;

HAHAHA, It made me imagine someone trying to draw with the corner of a crayon box and being like, "Why is nothing happeninggggg?" x'DDDDDDDDDDD

Wow, this is really cool.
I love the crayonlike shading and the way it's put together. I see that you don't like drawing comics, but darn, you've put a very convincing and well made one, like if it was from a children's comic book. I particularly like the expressions of the characters, as it's very cartoonish and cute.
Very nice work, and I'd love to see this continued if you consider doing so.

Thank you so much.~ If the contest manages to continue then this will continue for another strip or two I'm sure.~ Even if I don't have a huge drive to make comics, at least this shows I can do them to an extent if ever needed. xDDD

Really nice work Kito, the colors in this are just really up there and have a very nice story book charm and it is really nicely thought out. and carefully used, you are very subtle and yet it really gives a nice feel that is a great embodiment of a nostalgia feeling.

It really feels like a story I would have read as a child. Its just that nice in terms of the atmosphere.

The characters reactions full of life and set the stage for hilarity. I really love these characters and how well they are represented through there actions alone, it makes them unique and feel lively.

Great work Kito keep up the good work.

Wow man, thank you so much.~
I was also incredibly surprised at how expressive I could get some of these guys to look, especially my main one Jackie who has no more than an eye and a brow for emoting any feelings. x,D

Even if this general format is not something I'm into, I'd really love doing pictures with this storybook style again soon. Or maybe just do 2-3 panels instead of 9 at a time. >XD

Again thank you so much
