WELL THIS FELT LIKE IT TOOK FOREVER AND A HALFIt's part of a self directed series of projects I'm doing for portfolio, but I went a bit overboard with the amount of characters I decided to do .;D So the prop sheet I'm starting right after this is going to be like half the size or less ;aslfjdksjklfd
THIS WAS A HEAPTON OF FUN TO MAKE THOUGH, AND I ESPECIALLY LIKED RESURRECTING MY OLD JELLYFISH LADIES AMONGST THIS SWATH OF NEW FISHY FOLKS >:,) I figured out a really nice technique for getting fun character silhouettes out of too so if I ever itch to make other new designs I might make use of it more often.~

Aaaaaa it's awesome to see all of these guys finished up. The shading is so smooth and on point as usual, you really brought out the watery effect on these guys. There's so much variance in the color schemes, it feels like the characters themselves are like a colorful reef, and full of life like one, too. I absolutely adore the different personalities they evoke too. Your eye for character design is simply fantastic, as always.

hhhhhHhHhHHHhHhhh goodness dude thank you so much! ;v; Sealife n' Outer Space are like- my two favorite "real world" aesthetics to pull inspiration from So getting to go all out with another side of that since I work with colorful spacey things so much with my own main characters was a really enjoyable change of pace- even IF I'm having to kinda rush my way through the project so I can get stuff done at the rate I need to. (After this piece was done I'm already finishing up the 2nd piece for this tuesday, and I have to start/finish another one for next tuesday- and the tuesday after that

No problem! I definitely see the relation between Space and Underwater. We've explored so little of our oceans and a lot of things down there look certainly otherworldly too. Also both have a sort of weightless feeling amongst them. But daaaaamn that's a lot of work indeed. I've been really swamped with school art work too and it's probably gonna still go strong for about a week yet Balancing is no easy task but you can do this dude, keep on truckin'!

Yesssssssss yesyes, and I can definitely tell in a lot of sci-fi spacey things that the artists probably draw inspiration FROM a lot of sealife, because a lot of squishy tentacled biolumonescent aesthetics that we see in fantasy space creatures- all live in our waters already without even noticing them

ok ok I really love allllll of these though, Ifidhggg I always want to do something like this with just random folks you would find in the world of my folks(like ViVaiVai and some Waffeenie)
I really love the choice of colors and designs you went with, something different that people usually go with when drawing underwater life, you know something that isn't just a fish, you know?
