Come winds of the Caspian Sea...I went to Kumoricon in Portland this last weekend with my best friend. It was so fun! Alli and I went for all three days, and it was exhausting, but I still enjoyed the hell out of it. This was my cosplay for the third day.
I absolutely love steampunk, and Disney's The Little Mermaid was my obsession when I was a kid. So, a year or two ago, I decided to do a custom cosplay of my take on a steampunk Ursula/Vanessa. I got inspired by other Ursula cosplays, brainstormed my own version, and ran or swam? with it. I'm honestly so proud of how each little piece came together, as nothing from this came as a set. The necklaces and the crown were handmade, as well.
I've been working on finishing this cosplay for about a year now. It's almost complete, the trident is all that needs to be finished and there are some minor add-ons that I'm considering.
Anyways! During the con at one point, there was a dude who asked for a photo, then more people joined in on taking photos, and it turned into some surreal mini paparazzi. 😖 Thanks Alli for finding this one!
