It looks like a huge cliff face, a daunting task for any climber.
But that won't stop us from trying ever harder.
Through jugholds and crimpers we'll do quite fine,
The obsticle will be conquored--only with time.

And it appears that time is what made the lichens dye the bark to a nice, palatable hue. Nice close up.
