Description

To see each picture up close with some flavor texts, follow this link .

So I did contestants, and then I did spectators.  So what was next?  Wild cards!

What is a Wild Card?

These are characters that aren't spectators, contestants, or judge/host NPCs.
They could be additional characters to further drive the plot along.
They could be entries that didn't pass the audition stage for whatever reason.
They could just be characters I have a major soft spot for.
For whatever reason, they made it on the list, and I drew them!

This is probably a strong testament to how much I liked the designs and ideas that were submitted to the group.  There's one last one to go, and it's kind of a given what I have left to do.  But that's for the next round!

This time I can properly credit the artists.  Arranged in order to coincide with the picture here:

:

To clarify, one submission has two separate artist's characters (Mr Kite and Ms Dear), and two submissions are mine (Lucio, Buckeye).  I didn't want to repeat my icon, so I hope this clears any confusion.

All of them.

DUUUUUUUDE DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THESE TWO.  I fell in love the moment I saw them.  The height difference, the ages (bless you and your friend for conceiving an older couple), the guns...  I looked at the Kite and Dear material that was outside of Technicolor, too!  I'm a sucker for sweet things, and I think y'all's is very charming.

AW Well i think you're very charming and sweet for saying so, we've had the characters for a long while and i thought it might be fun to try them in a different context, but things just didn't work out. It was fun practise though and i'm so glad you enjoyed what you did see of them!

In and out of their home story, they're an interesting pair.  It's a similar thing to IshtarDragon and dragol 's entries, where they used characters from other projects and adapted them to this prompt.  I like seeing things like this because it shows what these characters would be like in other stories.
Hooray for playing with the multiverse!

And I want to see more of LOL, assuming you're continuing that story.  It's very intriguing.

I thinks it's a bit easier to throw in characters you already have into a new environment
ahaha, i still draw the characters for LOL a lot but not so much here, more just on my tumblr, school and life's been keeping us busy from focusing on any real story, so it's kind of just for fun now!

Haha, you're incredibly prolific with your Technicolor art!  I'm impressed at how many characters you've drawn as well as all your pages!  Anyway, once again every single one of these is so cute!!  It's nice to see art of these kind of characters since we don't see 'em as much!  The way you drew Bebe is sooo adorable too, thanks so much for including her

When ArtistsBlood referred to her as a "chicken tender wife" in her Round 3 entry, I just knew I had to put her on the list.  She's one cute hen!

They were cute to begin with! D:

I was really interested in the visual gag you had planned, where she pops up in a round panel to give commentary on any fights her honey would be in.  Nice use of fourth wall leaning and toon physics!

AWW THANK YOU ;~;

I was really hoping for all the fun it would have been but *shrugs* whatever. That just means I can focus on other things like creating their story! I'm horrible at OCTs so it was for the best lol

Yes, please continue to explore that!  Things like OCTs and clubs can be a good starting point to creating your own content, and if you have an idea that could exist outside of this tournament's prompt, I'd say go for it!

seeing you draw these little cartoon animal characters, gosh, I just can't help but wish that one day you get a job with a little indie animation studio specializing in this retro kind of style.  Or, if you make your own stand-alone original comic(s), they could be short "episodes" even; you would easily be able to hit a niche audience.

But that's just my two cents... too much of me is going "THEY'RE ALL COMPLETELY DIFFERENT SPECIES WTF" to be in said niche, but like... you do it so well...

It's amazing how well I took to this style.  Maybe it was something that was always in my drawings, I don't know, but somehow I can do this.  We've animated together, you know how I draw.  It's a little too simple for some, but I think this is just fine.

And with the exception of two of these (one you know too well), all of these characters belong to other artists.  So I guess it's more of an "I'm able to draw all these characters," and that's a good skill to have.

As for animation studios, that would be a nice place to work in.  Goodness knows a place like that demands work ethic and...well, we've animated together, so you know where I stand in that.

I do see a lot of your old style coming through--I suppose that's what I meant; this project just gave you a fresh take and you ran with it.

work ethic is something you can work on!  There are ways to improve your output.  it's not some fatal character flaw you can't ever change.
