Description What? Something that isn't club related?

Indeed.

This was the second project I did in my Advanced Drawing class this current semester (Spring 2012). The goal was to present a piece that displayed process. For me, that meant I had to learn to work in a more loose manner. I needed to have things happen beyond my control.

So I created this piece of two female figures (I assume they're sisters), who are opposites of one another, independent but still needing the other to bring out their best character. Both the creatures are very similar in design, but there are differences in the major and minor scale.

I also wanted the front wings to extend to the viewer, inviting them to inspect both sides of the foremost appendages. I didn't want something like this to just be pinned against the wall. Colorful as it is, that is not what I wanted to initially grab the audience's attention.

Mediums: graphite, colored pastels, crayon, watercolors, cross-stitch thread.
Estimated Time: 12-15 hours

DUUDE~ This is absolutely gorgeous! I'm so in love with the 3D aspect, and the style you did this in. I would like to see it mounted on... maybe illustration board, instead of a wall, it takes a way from the delicate look of the work. Also, it might just be me, but I do like the blue one a tad more, maybe it's the way the colours work together, but it does look like you put more time into the blue one. And it reminds me less of Dr. Seuss, but... there's still that hint of it.

Anyways, this is just fab, duude! Fantastic job, and I'd love to see more orignal work from you~~

Oh, wow, that is a very creative piece of work, ma'am! I love the designs you put into the two sisters, especially in their faces. It is quite elegant. And, very lovely job with shading, especially where the head and tail feathers are concerned.
