She thought you were gonna STEAL from her? Man, you and this l'il snakey oughtta have a long chat about trust.
You know, the way that mouse is hanging out of her mouth makes her look like she's smoking a big deformed cigar with balls. She is one classy cat, sir.

Seriously! I guess she doesn't have dogs or cats. "BAD doggie! Bad, bad kitty! Poor, poor chicky! Poor cow! Poor piggie!" Just because you don't see go into the processor, doesn't mean they're not in dog and cat food! Carnivores gotta eat, too. I don't feel any more sorry for the mouse than I did for those animals that go into dog and cat food, or for that deer that contributed to my own supper this evening, for that matter.
Not sure what you mean by "it used to be a male", though. I have a pair of Coachwhips, a male and a female. This one eating the mouse is a young female, about five feet long, who will just be old enough to breed this coming spring. I have a much-larger and older male(about seven feet long), who has been featured in several pics here on DA. Snakes don't change gender.

I meant the dinner. That looked like a big pair of testicles on that mouse.
As for snake feeding, I wouldn't be able to kill the mice myself, but I'd have no problem purchasing frozen mice. Once the animal is dead, it's fine with me.

Yeah, mice do have huge balls in proportion to their size! Most of the frozen/thawed feeder mice sold are males, since breeders only need one adult male for every dozen or so females, and male mice can't be kept together, since they will viciously fight and kill and cannibalize each other. I'm allergic to live mouse dander, extremely so, so I have to feed frozen/thawed for that reason, too. Mice can also turn on a snake and inflict horrific injuries, and I myself have had a really bad bite from one. Don't let that small size fool you; those teeth are like razor blades and can cut down to arteries in fingers or hands, which is what happened to me. Mice are a lot more aggressive than much-larger rats.

Exactly. Even in the wild, rodent prey can inflict some serious injuries on predators, like snakes. Any animal is going to do what it takes to defend itself, and a mouse is more than able to do so. Most of the adult wild snakes I catch are covered in scars that bear the tell-tale shape of rodent bites, and occasionally I do find one in which the bites have gotten infected and need medical attention if the animal is to survive. Mice are far from helpless; if they were, there wouldn't be so darn many of them!
Yeah, I know what you mean about "short angry Irish woman", too-fits ME to a T! I know a lot of folks here on DA think I'm a bitch, and maybe I am, but I inherited it honestly, along with my red hair, freckles and green eyes!
