Connections: Shy and rather lonely wielders of sacred blades (the Ω Sword and the Keyblade respectively) who would have a darker side of them brought out (quite literally in Ventus' case) by a villain's sword (Soul Edge and Xehanort's Keyblade respectively). Both would seemingly find happiness in newfound friends (Jurgis for Pyrrha and both Terra and Aqua for Ventus) but would have both of them taken away from that, and they would both be manipulated repeatedly by a major antagonist looking to reforge an evil blade (Tira and Xehanort respectively, with Tira looking to reforge Soul Edge and Xehanort looking to reforge the χ-blade). Also, heavy theme of corruption (Pyrrha being corrupted by Soul Edge's influence and Vanitas trying to influence Ventus to give into the Darkness).This battle also is one of opposites. Pyrrha's darker side (Pyrrha Ω) was infused into her while in the womb after a piece of Soul Edge was embedded in her mother's body, while Vanitas would end up manifesting as his own being after Xehanort removed a fragment of Ventus' heart. One went in, the other went out in simplistic terms.
