Description This dragon like creature is known as a Jiginum. Found in the southewstern regions of your imagination, this creature is very curious and loves trinkets and miscellaneous objects. If you let it have a look at any of your possessions It will befriend you ans start following you around. (They have been known to steel socks)

I haven't posted a sketch in a really long time and this one was floating around in a sketchbook I just recently pulled out and dusted off. I used a micron pen aswell as a dollar store ballpoint (which can easily be smudged for shading).

And as always, don't be afraid to leave any constructive criticism!

Thanks, it was a bit of an experimental technique for me. I'm glad that it turned out a bit better than I was hoping.

May I ask what exactly you did?

instead of drawing the lines for the folds of the wrinkles in the skin, I just intensified the amount of scales to imply the wrinkles. The only solid line I drew in that area was the outline of the neck.

Very interesting approach! I think I'll experiment with that too.

Great attention to detail, especially on all those scales! The shading of the creature itself is also well done; the shadows in the folds of the skin make this fella seem all the more realistic. The design of the eye is also quite interesting and I can definitely get a sense of the intelligence behind them. The only thing I want to point out is the tongue; it seems it could be a bit more detailed like the rest of the head shot. It just seems rather flat and unfinished when you have the rest of the picture at a very detailed level (but then again, this is a sketch). Overall, great work!

Thank you! I always appreciate constructive criticism. I might try to do something but a snakes tongue is more smooth than anything and lacking in texture. This picture was more for practicing texture and without the texture this is a pretty simple picture. I might play around with it in photoshop to see if a texture suits it well enough to fit.

Ah, I see what you mean about the smooth tongue. Well seeing that this was a practice with texture, you pulled it off nicely since it is definitely the main focus of the piece

Thank you. I might paint it over digitally in the future, the tongue will look better then.

...Why does no one comment? WHY? IT'S AMAZING! So amazing that I AM GONNA WATCH YOU. :1
I love this, the name and everything. I also love how you make the touch of it seem so real. The texture is amazing, along with the detail. I can not draw like this. Ever. I am amazed. You've won my support.

Thank you very much. And especially for the watch! I like to draw things that you could almost 'feel' the texture or fur of. (if that makes any sense XD)

Oh dear, if you heard the strange things I need to hear everyday, that would have made perfect sense. xDD Yeah, I totally understand. I love art like that. It's like a realistic popout image of something.

That is the best kind of art. Art that give a good sense of depth and accuracy.

Yes, something that I lack at. In all honesty, I only draw for fun. I couldn't care less about how much mine needs work since it's for fun. Not my future plans at all.
However I love looking at other art. Inspires me so much.

That's the best attitude to have! Art should be meant for the artist that makes it.
