Old lineart i decided to colour . I'm glad mushroms are back in to my life, also i'm quite satisfied with the result.Part of my little personal challenge to drawing backgrounds.
I enjoyed a lot painting it. Maybe 'couse i love todo use sepia tones.

A cool drawing that suggests many storylines. This piece really has a very swampy look... the colors and tones give it a really remote, dank, dismal feel. In fact, looking at how deep the young woman is in the mud, the colors and background details give this piece a very dramatic and perilous feel.
Looks like she either got lost and wandered into the swamp, or perhaps she felt time could be saved in her journey to who knows where if she took a shortcut through the forbidden Mushrooms Swamp. As she trudged along, her feet kept sticking in the mud, slowing her pace and adding to her overall ordeal. Somewhere along the way her feet got stuck in the mud and in her struggles to get free, her legs slowly sank further into the mire and became hopelessly trapped in the mud's suction. And, as the hours dragged by, her futile struggles only drove her deeper into the swamp, the ground softening and gradually drawing in further into the dark depths below.
The detail work on her sweat-soaked face and hair hint that she refuses to go down without a fight... that she's been putting up a heroic battle for freedom, but is losing badly. The bubbles in the mud before her nose could represent her last breath as she grasps the slick surface of amazingly large mushroom before her... a mushroom which may be her last hope for pulling her out of her muddy trap. The look in her eyes could be one of desperate hope as she grabs the mushroom and pulls just as she sinks out of sight.

Nice details on the 'shrooms! They are so great!
Though I would not mind having some details on the right side, the big one in the front.
It's a picture that wakes up interest: I wanna know just how the (girl?) ended up in there and what is she thinking.
I mean, she has a mysterious aura 'cause you cannot see her full expression!
I love it!
Pls make more of stuff like this, THIS is what I want to find in DA!

Mmmm, there is no real problem with the other one.
Of course it does not have the same mysterious feel, we alredy know the palce and the dragon does not wake up the same questions.
I envy you for your coloring skills, the other one is just as well done.
I find only a few differences, as you were asking for that:
- There is a different lighting, which affects the atmosphere. The dragon pic is much brighter, so it loses again a bit of the mysteriousness. If you try adjusting lighting and contrast levels, you might be able to reach the same feeling.
- The girl pic has a more detailed background, makes it more "interesting".
Hope that helps, I dont think there is a problem at all...

May I have a mouthful? Sweet drawing, concept. Love this tones, too. Bought these awesome Derwent chalk pens different tones of sienna, sepia, green, umber, chocolate, earth... though quite expensive. Don´t do a lot lately. Gotta have to, thanks.

Have you tried using coffe for painting? like aquarelles? you can get some good artwork with it. Right now i'm doing some sketches with coffe hehe.
