Description
So this an OC I made for a Stranger Things SYOC (Select your own character) fanfic back in 2021. I also made this for school which includes the other OCs in that fic. Since the fic takes place in 1976, I decided to base the character designs on 1970s cartoons of the decade which is why Naty looks like Valerie from Josie and the Pussycats.

Personality: Perfectionism is what Naty strives for in her life, though mostly in the realm of her body and athletics. While not considered dumb, Naty is less serious in her studies than that of her older siblings, Nia and Zalen. In some ways, she comes across as the popular girl of being pretty, athletic, and relaxed in the off-time. At least when she's told her hair isn't "appropriate" or "blocking the way."

However, despite Naty's seeming coolness at school, she likes to take part in other outdoor activities such as hunting and gardening, as a means of relaxing. She feels embarrassed at taking part in hunting as a "man's thing" to do, but enjoys it. If caught by classmates Naty tells them that her grandpa is making her hunt because Zalen is away. Whether anyone believes Naty on that isn't as important to her and make threats of social or physical damage to them.

Admittedly, Naty has a bit of a sadistic side hunts animals out of fun and has a vindictive side at school to those that wronged her. In that case, she tries to be smart in her vindictiveness by finding dirt on her victim and spreading it around anonymously as a rumor.

Yet, despite Naty's desire to make certain individuals miserable, she also wants to make others happy. In her case, she mainly wants to see the losers or people-who-don't-bother-her happy. In someways, it's for the selfish reason of justifying hurting someone because she's trying to help the unhappy. If nothing else, happier people means a happier crowd of people for the team and cheer squad.

Backstory: When Naty was a baby, her older brother Donjae went missing while he was playing outside. Her parents had tried to file a police report, only for him to be just be labeled a runaway. While Donjae's disappearance hit their family hard, Naty and Nia didn't really understand being the youngest and not having any memory of the eldest.

At eleven-year-old, Naty had gained a new sister with Kennisha, but shortly after her birth, their parents divorced. Their father already wasn't home that often as he re-enlisted to Vietnam at the time of Kennisha's conception. As a result, the five remaining children were split up among being raised by family member with Naty, Nia, and Kennisha moving to Rockford, Illinois to be with her maternal family and Zalen and Mabell live with their paternal family in Illinois. While they all lived close by Naty and Nia were closer with each and sort of outsiders to their own family. Even Kennisha, wasn't close with them due to the frustration of not knowing Donjae and why everyone is still being sad about him.

As Naty got older she wanted to make a name for herself, if nothing more than to get positive attention from her family. She took on physical activity and cheerleading and looked forward to the winter to go to a frozen lake or outdoor ice rink to practice ice skating. She wants be an Olympic ice skater or a cheerleader for a major team, regardless of what her family has told her in finding a longer career.
