Apparently the reason why Chick is such a jerk on the racetrack... and off track is because of his dad. I'm going to call his dad Dick Hicks because he and his son are both dicks. And they're male. In case you can't read what they're saying, here's what they said:

Okay so Chick starts flashbacking about his father when Lightning and him (and other racecars) are racing for a charity event. By the way, what is up with everyone on the racetrack daydreaming? I mean is it really the best time to daydream? Anyways... McQueen, after avoiding a crash that Chick caused, again, he tells Chick "You should see a therapist, figure out why you feel the need to do things like that?

Now the flashback:
Chick’s dad: Why do you do things like that?
Chick: He needed help, sir.
Chick’s dad: You listen here, son… This is a family of winners! We don’t have time to coddle losers! They’ll only drag you down, Chick! It’s win at all costs. Do you understand that?
Chick: I--I guess so, father.

In other words Chick’s dad is a jerk.
