For my brother's birthday. I took a handful of his drawings and translated them into 3D. It hasn't even been a full day since I completed this and I already feel like I could do much better... sorry John.Related content

3DS max! It's a beast of a program if you've never used it before, but it's possible to teach yourself how to use it.

Why thank you! They were simple because I didn't know how to unwrap textures at this point 
Keep at it! I suppose that's the only (shabby) encouragement I can give. They're surprisingly complex and a lot of consideration goes into them for rigging and being anatomically correct, muscle/poly flows and what not. So don't get discouraged by the fact that you're still having trouble.
I still have trouble too. In this pic, they aren't actually rigged, I pushed verts until they looked like that, and they all have some shoddy anatomy problems too, you just can't quite see them here.
This was a little less than a year and a half ago, I sure hope I learned since then!

hell no, haha... at that time I was pretty new to some of the sub-d stuff, it took me... oh... 3 weeks? I could possibly do it in half the time now, I'm not sure. Took longer because I had a bad template model.

wow it looks real. I mean when I saw it I was wondering why there there figurines on a cake then I read your explanation. The characters really look like figurines that you would buy in a store. Great job!
