Trying to get it just right was hard (and I could probably still do more)... There are so many ways to do explosion type stuff... and since we rarely see explosions except when they are edited down to seeing only half a second of one from a bunch of angles, there isn't much internal reference to use.
they are definitely fun... but damn hard... and every type of explosion is different too!
