Ray was a failed vessel of the Pale King, broken and unstable...unfit to be the true hollow knight. As the other siblings were thrown into the abyss, Ray felt enraged as their siblings were betrayed by their father. This vengeance for their father is what got the attention from the Radiance. Ray was one of the few siblings to make out of the abyss and as they did, the Radiance found them in their dreams and wanted to make a deal with them. If they helped spread an infection across Hallownest they wouldn't be endanger of anything setting it's shade free. Ray agreed and was given the infection, but wasn't controlled by it at the time. They continued to spread it to the bugs of Hallownest, but at the same time they were subjugated to the infection as it gained thought over time. Ray was a fragile vessel and as the infection took it's toll on them, Ray's mask eventually cracked a tiny crack. Their shade was set free and was able to pass away believing they gave the vengeance needed for it's siblings.Related content
