The Ballad of Malverica
“Once there was a magnificent sea kingdom of shimmering gems and gold,
It was a utopia of beauty, all run by a wise king,
The wise king however had a son, a foolish Prince,
He was radiant, dripping with beauty and confidence,
However, his pride was his downfall.
He fooled around and spend money excessively on the most trivial of desires,
The wise king would tell his son again and again,

“Son, your confidence will aide you in being a leader, but your excess will make them wary. In order to keep the people at bay you must keep both in check.”
His son didn’t listen.
Soon the wise king died, and the foolish Prince took the throne.
He spent money on many lavish buildings and statues, made many promises and had many feasts.
But the people were starving, angry, jealous.
This foolish Prince was nothing like his wise father!
Seething with anger, the townspeople stormed the castle and, after robbing the Prince of his riches, stabbed him in the heart.
Thrus was the end of the foolish Prince.”

Okay, there's been a reason why I haven't drawn much or any work for this group yet.

I really didn't like Caspian's mask outfit design. However, in retrospect I was working under a deadline to get my app in and it was frantic, and I suck at designing clothes in general so I just threw a shirt and pants on it and was done.

But I dunno, it never clicked. From the beginning I really wanted him to be a princely figure, with an elegant matching outfit, like a sea king.

So I re-designed his outfit based on Persian and Asian clothing and I like it loads better. It fits his mask's personality a lot better too.

I'm also hoping to maybe make his other masks prince themed too, each based on a different style of dress from a time period. I was also hoping to maybe write a twisted little nursery rhyme with each one, like I did above, sort of explaining the mask's personality and speculative origins.

I dunno, its funny because Caspian was named after Prince Caspian from the Narnia books, so all this prince imagery is really just kind of ironic at this point.
