Love it!

"The secret to writing is just to write. Write every day. Never stop writing. Write on every surface you see; write on people on the street. When the cops come to arrest you, write on the cops. Write on the police car. Write on the judge. I am in jail forever now, and the prison cell walls are completely covered in my writing, and I keep writing on the writing I wrote. That's my method." Neil Gaiman.

I have many notebooks that are in my room and I just find them and start writing ideas for my OC's. Then I lose those notebooks and find them months later.

Most indubitably. Although I don't really get the urge to write on trees, I do love turning my thoughts into words.

PixieRiot In reply to 0Hamster0 [2007-11-02 01:54:54 +0000 UTC]

Lol, writing on trees is great...you just write a small passage from a thought-provoking poem and your name and people see it when they walk past and it makes them wonder about it and such...

It's awesomeness!

Did you study his poems for GCSE Eng? We did Simon Armitage and Carol Ann Duffy.

I'm not a fan of Carol Ann Duffy...we did her and another that I cannot quite remember...may have been Simon Armitage!
Gosh, that was over 4 years ago

*feels old*

0Hamster0 In reply to PixieRiot [2007-11-26 14:59:38 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, her poems are kinda... 'Freudian'? lol. But Amitage is a legend! We saw a bunch of poets at a "GCSE Poetry Live!" conference/convention-thing, and he was one of the more humorous poets.

πŸ‘: 0 ⏩: 1

PixieRiot In reply to 0Hamster0 [2007-11-26 15:54:30 +0000 UTC]

I loved Havisham by her though...as I adore Great Expectations...my dad read that book to me when I was about 5...was awesome. But other than that...I think her poetry generally lacks a lot of other emotion that other's put into theirs...it seems as though it's just making money to her...and they're not exactly hard to interpret...

My favourite my Simon Armitage has to be Hitcher...or My Father Thought it...that one made me lol in class...

0Hamster0 In reply to PixieRiot [2007-12-30 22:20:26 +0000 UTC]

I like that one of hers that started "It was another grey morning" (I can't remember the title) : there was something new to 'see' in it every time I read it. But some of hers did seem a bit 'reeled-off'.

Oh yeah! "My Father thought it bloody queer// that I'd [can't remember this bit] my ear" That one was good - both amusing and interesting to interpret.
