Oliver has always struggled with finding who he is, when he was young he did everything he could to get a cutiemark but one never appeared so he moved on to finding a group of friends he could depend on make. Find his place in the larger society but that didn't work either as strange as it is he's quite the introvert. He spends most of his time with his father, Capper, who also doesn't always feel like he has a place in Equestria but the pair have always bonded over that and overtime Oliver got the confidence to speak up to people and now he has a little friend group to call family.
