An Amigurumi Design: BanburuThe Bumblebee or Queen Bee
Cirque du Crochet's contest ending on the 30th of May.
if you use this deviation PLEASE show me your final product, I want to see 
Yarn colors: yellow, black, white (although I don't see why you can't make all the bees of the rainbow...)
Becomes a queen bee with a pipe cleaner and bead crown or make a crown of any material you desire.
Also, crochet a flower and either stitch it on the bottom as a support or just a pad for displaying this little creature.
Wings are circular crochet, any design (even name personalizations) can be stitched on after completion before attaching it to the spherical body.

this is really cute! The only thing im kinda confused about is the pipecleaner crown. someone would have to sew the whole thing on the bee or something because pipecleaners are easily bendable and who ever buys it will have to always watch out for that. maybe something more sturdy or spray something on to make it unbendable. but otherwise its so cute!

Thanks! The crown is optional. I imagine it would work for someone who used it as a display piece vs. a children's toy... but totally possible that i consider other materials~~~! (If I ever make the design myself... looks like Banburu might not make it to the top!) It could even be crocheted or done with yarn... depending on skill level...

^.^ I am learning crochet. It's not all that hard, actually. I have 2 plushies to my name, fairly happy with them. There are some technique aspects I need to master but overall they're fulfilling and if I make enough, someday I can sell them too

No way! That is a really good tutorial, by the way. I want to learn to knit too.. knitting looks intimidating to me right now but seriously, it all makes so much sense when you have the yarn and hook in your hand. Just looking makes it look crazy o.o

theres a good youtube video lol our teachers made us watch it 5 times before we started XP except they only showed us how to make it, not how to start

it is pretty slow going, isn't it? I've been working on a backpack (squares sewn together) and that... is going at a snails pace. Although I am getting close to finishing the back panel... crochet is so much easier, for me at least. Although I like what can be made with knitting...

awww. I woulda gone but neither I nor my husband were feeling too hot. He just had ear surgery so I imagine a concert wouldn't have worked out very well

aww yeah a concert would probably not be the best thing after ear surgery lol. And it was~ Basically I am talking with the head artist there and getting tips and pointers on my art, so if she deems me worthy I might be able to work for them, but they are looking for a handful of people and im the only one that has applied so far sadly, I really hope more people take interest :3
