I love Lovebirds, eventually in a few years there will be one (well probably 2 cause how can you not have 2 lovebirds?) in my home.

If you get a nice handfed one that bonds to you they can be alone, but mine had been at the pet shop too long and bonded with the other bird for sale, now I don't think it's interested in bonding with humans, but it was making slow progress with me, such as trying to eat from my fingers if I made a beak with my fingernails. The bird will bite anyone else

I'd end up finding a local breeder and if I got a pair I'd get 2 males or 2 females at a young age. That way they can bond with humans and eachother. I worry about opposite sex because of territorial behaviors when they're sexually mature.
