Deku, like Ruby, in the Justice-Verse, has not the same issues as his canon self, having a Bakugo who stood up for him instead of crapped on him, surrounded by a greater support system, including non-powered heroes to inspire him, and I wrote that the Paranormal Liberation War and its fallout never happened. Justice-Verse Deku would naturally want to help himself, or the version of himself, who's at probably his lowest point ever, telling him to let his friends help him and to try to build the self-esteem that had been quite literally beaten out of him his whole life, and remind him that he can't help others if he's failing to help himself.
