The grass was tall and thick, moving like ocean tides in the gentle wind. The soft blades gently caressed the legs of anyone who walked through the dense blanket of vegetation. The turf muted the sound of footsteps to the point that if anyone came through, even jumping around, you could hardly make a single sound.
A small, dusty purple filly pranced around in the grass, finding the greenery beneath her hooves both weird and fascinating. She was far more familiar with the crunching and clacking sound of her feet on gravel and dirt roads she'd previously traveled.
But now, no matter how much she trotted, galloped, stomped, or jumped, there was nothing. Just the soft brush of the grass tickling her knees made her laugh, bouncing around and kicking the air merrily.
    She followed behind the tall figure of her mother, letting her and the rest of the herd lead the way. Rominn had no idea where they were going, but she didn't need to know. She even thought, 'If Mum knows, why would I need to?'
    She went back and forth through the grass along their journey before she noticed something new; It was a bush like she had seen plenty of before, but this one had weird little ball things all over it.
Curious, the filly trotted to it and realized there were many bushes like this one everywhere around her. Her pale green eyes widened in awe, and she called out to her mum. She needed to see this too!
    As she saw the more prominent equine approach, the filly returned to what she had found. The small balls were gorgeous. Shimmering in the sunlight with their reddish or dark pink colors. They looked a little like her coat...
   "Careful with the thorns, little one," Warned her mother with a smile.
   "What are these?" Rominn asked, tilting her head.
   "Berries. Here, try to grab some. Don't hold them too tight, or they'll get squished." Rominn's mom explained as she pulled one of the branches out from the more significant part of the plant.
Rommin looked closely before expanding her little fingers to close around a grape of small marbles. Her mum was right; they felt very soft. A little like the fish she accidentally grabbed once while crossing a river.
She carefully pulled the berries until the branch snapped back and found herself overjoyed by her gathering. She looked at her mum with a broad smile and showed the handful.
   "Can I keep them, Mumma ?"
   "You can. But you can do something better with those berries. Try one. They're good to eat."
Römïnn frowned. That’s a weird way to keep something...
Yet, she obeyed. And let out a yelp of surprise as the taste of sweet liquid hit her tongue. She looked at the berries she still had in her hands, then at the bushes, then up at her mom, who was grabbing some more.
   "What do you think ?"
   "It's sweet !"
   "That's what these berries are. Little marbles full of sweet water."

It feels like forever ago since the last time I've found myself so inspired by something damn. I've been writing stories for 5 days now and I'm super hype to develop them more !
So, first chapter of 'Plum Waters', the storyline following Römïnn in her childhood adventures. Better enjoy this one, it's the easiest one to swallow...
