Sorry for the late answer!

I use a software callet 'Abstract Curves'  combined with some other softwares.

The effect is almost the same as the old Sinedots plugin. I have both 1 & 2. The 2 creates the colored images, but these are so close it is amazing. Hope to see more, I love this effect.
