Description The waves crashed and rolled. The sky roared and seethed, glaring with a deep violet gaze. But all Redwood could see was Shire. And see him dressed in red.
Whisking droplets of rain pelted the cliffs as the wolves stood on moist rock.

It was at the moment Shire had sunk 𝒉𝒊𝒔 teeth into 𝒉𝒆𝒓 son, gripping and throwing him aside like a rabbit freshly caught...that Redwood narrowed her sights, her eyes fixated on him as she breathed heavily. Her pupils were dilated, and her form was manic. The silver mother didn't see Alja. She didn't see Renjiro. She saw neither of her children, only the monster of a wolf before her.

Redwood's face wrinkled into a grimace as she unsheathed her fangs, growling out an enraged snarl.
She lunged at Shire, attacking him with intense ferocity. Everything that had built up for her was finally released: the anger from his betrayal, the sadness of his leaving, the pain of raising their young alone. She watched the ruby red flow from his wounds. The ever-growing wounds Redwood dug into.

Shire growled and shrieked until he caught sight of what happened over the edge of the cliff. Despite his blurry red vision, he stopped batting his large paws and thrashing at his attacker. The pups were clinging over the edge of the cliff.

Redwood stopped in her tracks, her fury coming to a halt as she turned away from the dark beast, her paw still firmly on him.

"𝑳𝒐𝒐𝒌."
Shire bellowed, staring out at the edge with a malignant grin.

Redwood completely got off and away from Shire, her gaze locked on her children.

"Wait!"

As she called and ran as fast as she could, the pups yelped and howled, falling into the waters until a violent splash was heard.

Redwood's entire composure changed in a heartbeat.
Her eyes widened and her jaw hung open. She was paralyzed, so horrified, so consumed by terror and guilt.
She didn't check to look behind her.
