I've always wanted my own ship within Star Wars and I liked the N-4 so much I decided that was it.

Penumbra is a custom built N-4Y1 Strikefighter, designed for an anonymous benefactor, assumed to be a bounty hunter. From the outset everything non-essential was stripped for speed including: 3 of the 4 laser cannons, the proton torpedo launcher and the astro-mech bay. While it retained its ordnance bays their internal capacity is significantly reduced. The nose was lengthened to allow for great atmospheric acceleration and the hull was constructed of a lightweight alloy for improved weight. Most notably the engines were modified both to utilize a different, more volatile, fuel and to allow for a second boost stage. Allowing for a total increase in power of 210%. Penumbra's cockpit is noticeably smaller as well, though this is deceiving. underneath the cockpit lies a small living space complete with a bed and facilities for preparing meals and dealing with waste. While not spacious this does make the ship survivable on long distance deep space missions. Finally its hyper drive has been highly tuned up to a class 0.6. All these factors allow Penumbra to reach blistering speeds over 1,800Kph, though at significant cost to its firepower and survivability.
