Description Finally! My fanart for is finished! *dances*

A few years ago JA sent me a copy of Volume 2 of his original webcomic "Pacificators", and I offered to draw him a fanart in return. Sorry for being so late, JA! I put in a lot of effort on this pic to make up for the two year lateness!

This is Larima (blonde) and Taffe (black-haired) Torbern, who are both T-Pacificators who can use special powers to their will. Larima can control water and Taffe, wind/air. (More air than wind, I think.) They're sisters, but it's interesting to see that they look nothing alike. XD I guess it's because their parents are of different ancestry? I used to have a friend back in the US who looked pretty Asian but his little sister was totally German-looking. (His father was German and his mother was Taiwanese.)

I had such a fun time with my dad's Samsung Slate, it's a new tablet PC that's practically just a slate! XD It's just like a flat slab of stone with a computer screen on one side. AND THE TABLET PEN WORKS WONDERS It was so exciting to mix and dab those pretty colors I used for the wind/water and feel like I was just playing around with my traditional markers/paper! Plus drawing right onto the screen takes away so much of the linearting hassle I have when I use a regular tablet. (My digital lines can't seem to match up with the pencil sketch scan I lay underneath, and the final outcome is less satisfying than the original. D: ) A lot of people have sold their Cintiqs after using this Slate, because it's just so awesome win! 8D

Enough blabbering about mechanical stuff. Hope you like this, JA! And thank you for all your support and friendliness towards me for the last.. let me see... 7 years! (Time flies!)

I actually found it interesting that you think Larima and Taffe looks so different. It's true that they have very different colors (hair and eyes), but I've always thought that JA drew their faces similar enough for them to pass as sisters.

(You want know something cool and possibly weird? Taffe technically have blue eyes, like Larima. For a human to have purple eyes, he/she must have blue eyes... except the blue is so light, we could actually see the blood from inside their eyes. Red + blue = purple. )

Anyways, I like the picture, and I liked how the water and wind blended together at the middle!

I guess I can see that. :3 (I thought that was just because of JA's drawing style?)

(I don't delve too deeply into realistic facts when it comes to manga-style. XD It makes things so complicated! But I did know about the formula for purple eyes, didn't Audrey Hepburn have violet irises? They're really cool. 8D)

Thank you very much!

I'll go out on a limb, disagree with ReNStudios and say that I like how this shows connection between the two with the wind and the water blending like they do, despite the differences between them. I know they said it's slight, but I'm just seeing a different thing. And the melancholy I see could be about anything.
(And nice one on making Taffe look more boyish. Little details like that are cool.)

Hmm, nice interpretation! I just wanted it to look nice and symmetrical. As for the expressions... thought it would give them a nice mysterious feel if they both had neutral expressions, with a tinge of determination.

(Thanks! I've been practicing drawing boys so much that sometimes my girls look too boyish, though that worked out quite nicely for Taffe here. :3)

That's cool!

(You're welcome! And I know exactly what that's like, minus the "it's because I've been drawing boys a lot part".)

Yay! That's a wonderful artwork you did there! No worries and it's always good to hear from you again.

That's good that you had fun with Samsung Slate. I find it interesting that I did not have a problem with linarting you mentioned but then again, it may be because I got one of the best Cintiqs which I draw directly on the screen.

Thank you so much and you're welcome!

Larima you
Taffe goes

Thank you! I meant that it's hard to lineart with a regular tablet, the kind that you have to stare at the screen while drawing on the tablet. It feels weird at first because you do'nt see where your pen's going. I like the Cintiq-like Slate better, at least I know where my lineart will show up! XD

You're very welcome, and come on you guys, I'll give you both a grizzly hug! *scoops both into arms and hugs tightly*

That's a curious story, they really don't look that much alike, but they are sisters huh? I've never seen the story of course, but that's an interesting idea. I wonder how well they get along and work together now. XD

I never really thought that much about drawing on a tablet computer like that, it might actually be very good for drawing. O.o

Very nice work seeing this gift through for your long time friend. That's great and it turned out very well. ^^

It's a really fun comic, you should go check at JA's website at www.sailorenergy.net ! I still need to catch up on his recent updates, so I'm not totally sure about those two, but they're fun to draw. :3

Thank you!!

I think I remember some of his work but not much. It looks like he's got a nice collection of stuff going, not bad for how long he's been at it.
And you're welcome.

Oh wow the coloring is so gorgeous!

JA will definatley love this! I like how you captured that slight 'distance' between the sisters. 8D I'm really curious about those two, my current theory is that they aren't related by blood...hence how different they look.

Thank you! Interesting theory, you're implying that one of them is adopted, or...?

ReNStudios In reply to PlatinaSi [2012-11-19 23:32:47 +0000 UTC]

I think either Taffe was adopted by Larima's parents, or maybe, neither of them have parents, and they adopted 'eachother' as sisters... I think they both lost their parents in a war, hence why they both have such different views on war... Larima being completly against them, and Taffe taking an apathetic stance (as usual) saying that they are unavoidable. All we know for sure is that they both claim to be sisters, come from France, speak the language, and that Taffe looks suspiciously asian... XD

Haha I have so many crazy theories for JA's characters and where the story might be going. I may tell you them in a note some day! XD
