First of all, I thought that whole Snape and Wormtail ting at the start of HBP was the funniest thing ever. Hahahaha! I bet that after all those school years where Peter was laughing at Snape with the Marauders' protection, Snape really got a kick out of being able to boss Wormtail around. I don't know what they're fighting about here though...

Incidentally, I think that this will end up having some significance in the next book... I think Peter was positioned there by Voldemort to keep an eye on Snape in the first place, not to be an assistant, or whatever it was. The whole "he has lately taken to listening at doors," I think is more than a little anecdote. I'm also kind of waiting for Peter to repay his debt to Harry, or whatever JK promised at the end of book three.
