I personally know tons of LGBT people who absolutely despise that people are throwing around "queer" like no one should have a problem with it, when it's literally synonymous with "abnormal" and "weird" and is still used now against LGBTs. Go ahead, tell, for example, a gay guy whose father beat them while screaming that he ain't having no queer living under his roof, that they should be fine with people nonchalantly calling him "queer".
