Description My vision of what Stalker 2 could be like. The gunslinger "Strelok" returns to his life as a stalker, trying to expose the conspiracy of the Zone and its creators once and for all. He follows the only lead he has. A second Zone.

It's 2018. Massive bubbles erupted across Ukraine, the largest one directly on top of the capital, Kiev. Outside the bubble everything went on normally, but inside, in the course of just a few days, the city had aged over 30 years, and become the second Zone almost over night. The bubble disappeared. At the border there was a view of an overgrown ghost city, unmaintained and ravaged by natural forces and anomalies for decades. It's unlikely that anyone could survive, and there's no telling what lies inside.

The picture took the better part of a week. In the foreground you can see Strelok, with his raggedy home-made stalker outfit, and a Sako TRG .338. The background is actually a semi-trace of a photo I found on Google Earth, so the buildings are really in there, in Kiev. There's a strage dark glow in the horizon, and a blowout it brewing up, swalowing the sunny sky.

Oh, and the full view is 1680x1050 (16:10) if anyone wants to have it as a desktop background.

Yes, there is one part that wasn't made with Paint. The STALKER logo.

Those rumors about Bethesda haven't been confirmed though.

While i like the picture i don't think that STALKER 2 will follow anything like that.

You seem to think that RSP and STALKER are the same (correct me if I'm wrong) but STALKER was just an idea that came from RSP. In STALKER there are no aliens and visitation zones. It's all man made testing that went wrong. The monolith is an illusion blah blah blah i wont bored you with stuff you probably know.

I am looking forward to STALKER 2 and who knows they might expand the zone or make a new one but i doubt it to be done through bubbles anomaly/time bubbles.

Anyway. Very nice picture. If anything it is a little too bright for the Stalker feel, it needs more cloudy shadows and darker colours.
With the blue streak i'm guessing that is the bubble so i won't question that.

Anyway, good work. Hope to see more of it and you are definitely going on my watch list.

I know that "Roadside picnic" comes from the idea that when aliens visited, what they left behind is as weird to us as coke cans are for ants. The reason why I gave it that name is that I think the STALKER games are too different from the original stories of RSP and Stalker, and there should be more "down to Earth" feel to the games. In the games it seems the focus is more on guys in military gear living in a post-apocalyptic world, than survival of a few weak humans in an alien environment. Stalkers should be a few desperate opportunists, a lot of them with no combat training or equipment, always afraid that they won't survive till tomorrow.

The Chernobyl Zone is explored. Pripyat is done. And Strelok himself said that those responsible for the continued existence of the Zone are somewhere else. I just thought that a change of scenery would be welcome, although I doubt STALKER2 will be anything like that. The existence of time anomalies allows for the possibility of my scenario. A city-scale anomaly could make a large area experience decades while the rest of the universe experiences a few days. That could turn any modern city into a ghost town that has been deserted for a long time.

And here's more to the idea: The conciousness that created the Zone was absorbed by the noosphere, and that's why they weren't in the NPP lab anymore. But in the second Zone, they have materialized again, in the form of a legendary artifact. The wish granter in the NPP was an illusion, but this would be the real deal. The artifact could literally grant wishes by allowing an outside individual to affect the noosphere through the artifact. And Strelok's job would be to find it and find out what he could do to stop it all. Should he try to wish it away with its own power? Or destroy it?

The blue in the picture is just blue summer sky, and there's a blowout approaching. Stalker is not all darkness and gloom. It's often very pleasant. Plus I wanted the picture to have more color than all the other Stalker-art.

And thanks for the watch and all.

All it takes is years of practice and lots of patience. Tutorials and (IMO) a pen tablet also help.

Thanks.
