• PERSONALITY: Locke is happy – to say the least. After living nearly his entire life alone, watching other people, he’s ecstatic to go out and be one of them. He doesn’t quite understand all the social cues and is likely to say whatever’s in his head rather than what’s proper for the situation. He also doesn’t have a mean bone is his body, despite the stigma he’s carried for being a ghost Pokémon. He also sometimes has trouble with his body – as a haunter he didn’t have much to control except his face and hands.

• HISTORY: Ever since he was a ghastly, Locke was always fascinated with humans. There weren’t too many other ghosts where he lived – in a haunted attic – so he didn’t talk to many other Pokémon. Every so often a trainer would come to see him (well, come to battle him but he saw it as a friendly visit). He would greet the trainer with his most excited face and go right towards them to say hello. Unfortunately, the trainers and their faithful Pokémon would interpret this as a psychopathic ghost Pokémon floating towards them at top speed! The poor ghastly would have to defend himself from the horrified trainers and, as a result, eventually leveled up into a haunter – becoming more downhearted with every battle.

One stormy night he heard a couple of trainers that were staying in the house for shelter telling a scary story about fallen Pokémon coming back from the grave with new bodies – as ghost Pokémon. This excited the haunter more than he had been in a long time. He could have been anything! A powerful tyranitar or a cool absol! The haunter began spending all his time thinking about how amazing his past life must’ve been and began stealing from the trainers that he fought in order to get a better understanding of what life as a ‘normal’ Pokémon was like.

One day he stole something that interested him. It was a picture of a pretty human lady in a lab coat on a piece of paper with many words around it. He couldn’t understand it but the Pokémon in the picture looked so happy and he knew he had seen the lady before. In fact, he was pretty sure he had seen the building on the flyer from right outside his little window! Maybe if he went to see her, he would be able to be happy like the Pokémon in the picture!

The haunter waited for the evening before venturing out of the attic. It was his first time leaving the haunted house and he was very anxious about his short journey. He floated through the wall and found the pretty lady standing there and smiling to him, asking him if he’d like to participate. He nodded a yes.
