I have the feeling they are there to watch over us . Such wonderful colours and framing, it really is very stunning! I'm glad it is a little misty in the bg because it helps to keep the feature/focus on the stones and the statues. So wise....looking at this makes me thoughtful and turns me quiet and still. The sun brings out some vivid textures on the stones. And the statues - the shadows give depth. It's interesting how they have aged at different rates depending on where they are and how much the weather could reach them. This is so lovely

The Erecthion, up by the Parthenon, is it not? Yeah for caryatids. I'm continually amazed at the accomplishments of Greek culture. Smart folks, those ancient Greeks.
