We had Chirac here at my town once. We heard all the fuss of helicopter but that was it.
In 1981 when Mitterrand was elected after 27 years of the right, he went on a tour of the country. I saw his helicopter pass over the house, and castle, but it was just to see from above. It was a huge thing with bleu, blanc, rouge colours on it.
