Description A new OC of sorts, an experimental fashionista. Testing her out a bit, not sure what I could do with her.

Sidenote; I'll never understand high waisted shorts.

Gorgeous work! And I believe high waisted shorts make legs look longer and abdomens smaller or something like that.

Anyway love her face and hair!

Thank you <3
Yeah I like the visual effect that they have, people with chub like me can't wear them though. OTL

I'm trying to get better with faces, glad you like. :3

Oh wow she came out lovely!

And to maybe help with the high waist shorts, as I like them personally, it's nice because unlike low-cut anything I can bend about without worrying about exposing anything and it doesn't feel like it's riding up.. anywhere. I find them roomy, but I can agree that they can look really.. tacky and bad easily with the wrong clothing combo.

Thank you much

Well for those reasons, that's understandable. I have the "riding up" issue all the time and I hate it. Only thing that really bothers me is the look themselves.
Not that they're bad, but it just seems only a certain body type can make them look the way they're designed, and that even back in the 60s as well, only one shape really made them worth getting.

No problem! And yeah, I can definitely agree with that.

Aw thanks darlin'! <3

Oh shush lol. Yours are fine <3.
Women are easier for me to draw than guys. Oh god, guys. Just .. urgh.
I'm used to curves everywhere and big eyes and stuff, not chiseled. Thats just different. OTL

I do need to draw more dudes though. I want to be more well rounded.

I grew up with an older brother. Been drawing males for as long as I could hold a pencil. Females have always given me trouble. XD

Well at least you've had some inspiration lol.
I really don't get to hang out around guys long enough to get inspiration. They usually think its weird or somesuch.
Ah well, back to the reference books.

Probably helps that I get along better with guys, then girls. Which is probably my problem with drawing ladies... I've just not been around too many of them compared to guys. XD

Lol we have opposite situations it seems.
Well I guess we both have to break out of our comfort zones to get good at both.

I don't like things I'm not used to, but I have to be positive about it or I'll never try.

Yeah, been trying to become better with anatomy and proportions overall. Because you want to never stop improving. Am I right? XD

Oh, I have grown to love a good challenge. And man have I gotten some doosies. With doing tattoo work, I've done things that I had never thought I would even do, and some of them are some of the work that people like the best.

Pockaru In reply to KarianaSan [2012-10-26 08:01:21 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, one should strive to always improve.

Do you actually do tattoos on people too? I've seen your stuff, its pretty awesome.
I love the tribalesque style to it.

KarianaSan In reply to Pockaru [2012-10-27 19:06:01 +0000 UTC]

Yep yep!

No, I don't actually tattoo people. That would take more money then I own, and like 3 years of apprenticeship, depending on the license and location. Plus, unless I would be amazing as soon as I picked up a gun, I would cause people pain... and I'm not fond of that. So it would be hard for me to concentrate with someone who is sensitive and in pain from what I'm doing. I heard that with some tattoo'ing, you just have to brace the person and keep going. Because if you slow down, it will take longer and hurt them more. So, not really jumping to do that to people.

But! I love designing them. Until a few years ago, I had never thought about it. Now I love designing it and always have new and more ideas coming to mind. And tribal is fun since there is so much you can do with it. I would love to learn the more cultural aspects of some of the Polynesian tribal, but I don't know where exactly would be the best place to learn. Or have the time to learn as well.

Pockaru In reply to KarianaSan [2012-11-14 04:28:20 +0000 UTC]

Yeah, tattooing is a lot of work, time and patience. Not to mention the practice.
I think it'd be super fun to do though, minus the people who are complaining of pain. That must be annoying to deal with. Its too bad that you can't put icy hot gel or whatever on the person first, so they don't feel it. Make things a lot easier, unless they like the pain. lol

To learn more about it, check out some books or websites on the culture itself. Gather things from the photos and videos of its history and such. Maybe you could be a tattoo designer for a shop and they can just put your design on someone.

Love her hair and attitude!
It reminds me of a fashion illustration. I think it looks great!
You should do some more of these with different outfits.

Supposed to make the legs look longer. Same with waisthigh pencil skirts.

As an aside, this is really great! Keep it up!

I can understand skirts, the crotch lines of the shorts are just so noticeable, though. That, and the bellies look more bulbous. lol

thanks~
I shall. :3
