Description
Marina towered over the micro-city with her hands on her hips. The normal-sized world saw Marina as just another woman, but the hundreds of thousands of people below her were the size of dust, and she was a goddess to them. Her threatening heel rising above the city and her casual smirk told the people that this woman had cruel intentions for them. She was here to end the world.
The goddess’ face was uncaring. Her eyes were cool and piercing. Marina saw every tiny movement below her, observing with satisfaction the crowds funneling through streets in unthinking panic. Neighborhoods emptying as families fled inside their homes, desperate for any shelter. They were bugs to her, utterly powerless. It would have been as easy to simply leave them alone, continue her day, allowing two hundred thousand lives to remain in the world. She felt no ill will toward them, she hadn’t even known this civilization existed minutes ago. But they couldn’t stop her, and that was reason enough to end them. She just wanted to crush a city today.
On the ground the people were praying for time, precious minutes to find their loved ones, say unsaid things, or simply live a little longer. But Marina granted them no time at all, stomping down, annihilating the whole city and everyone in it. She deliberately scraped her heel over the wreckage once more to ensure there were no survivors -smiling slightly all the while- then flicked the ruins of the tiny city off the bottom of her heel.
