Description
I saw the last bumble bee of the year
Land on the slowly wilting cold orange flower
I already talk about you
Like you were in some
Tragic book I read that Christmas
I can just grin and shrug
When they tell me they're sorry
They tell me I didn’t deserve that
Thank God they're wrong
You were exactly what I deserved
And you were exactly what I wanted
Thank God I was wrong about you
You've given me so much more in hurting me
Than you can have ever given me
While I dressed your wounds
The fluff on his back damp from the rain
Yellow Black Yellow with chipped wings
Barely hovering to the next dying blossom
Like that pitiful rusty car rolling down the street
Grey cloud trailing
I'm standing in front of my dream
Formally know as "ours"
With a flower in my hair
I've never smiled like this before
I've never been so easy alone with God
Will I see the same bumble bee crawl out from hiding
Next spring when the flowers are neon
Some days when the air smells like you
And it makes my heart beat harder
And my teeth grind tight
I find comfort hoping that every time
You fight with her that you wonder
If you had just kept your promise
And I hope you see me walking taller now
And see that smile on my face for no one
That you didn’t even get to see
I hope you see what we had before you murdered it
And wish you could get it back because
You won't
I wished for a long time
It doesn't
On the last flower
In vain
It's dead already
Shivering wings lift the fragile creature
At the speed of leaves turning that same shade of orange
He goes in the opposite direction
